Llama Sunset Hike

Lead your own llama across the high slopes of Haleakala on Maui's western flank during this 75-minute sunset walk. After a brief orientation on llama handling, you'll set out with your animal on a gently rolling route across Haleakala's western slopes. The terrain alternates between compacted gravel and grassland, climbing slightly but never steeply. You're responsible for guiding and managing your llama—no riding, just walking alongside. The real payoff arrives once you gain elevation: the panorama opens to show the West Maui ridgeline across the valley, the ocean edge, and the silhouettes of Molokai and Lanai on the horizon. You'll finish as the sun drops, painting the sky while the air cools noticeably at this altitude.
